จากความสำเร็จของงานแสดงเทคโนโลยีและโซลูชั่นสำหรับระบบอัตโนมัติ AUTOMACH 2018 ที่ผ่านมา ณ ศูนย์ประชุมพีช โรงแรมรอยัลคลิฟ โฮเต็ล กรุ๊ป พัทยา เป็นสิ่งที่ยืนยันถึงการตื่นตัวและความต้องการระบบอัตโนมัติ (Automation) สำหรับภาคอุตสาหกรรมของประเทศไทยได้เป็นอย่างดี ซึ่งพลวัตที่เกิดขึ้นนี้เป็นผลกระทบที่เกิดขึ้นจากการเปลี่ยนแปลงสู่ยุคอุตสาหกรรม 4.0 ของภาคการผลิตและซัพพลายเชนทั่วโลก พลิกโฉมการแข่งขันยกระดับการทำงานและการใช้ชีวิตรอบด้าน เชื่อมโยงแหล่งวัตถุดิบ ผู้ผลิต โลจิสติกส์ ร้านค้าปลีก รวมถึงผู้บริโภคเข้าด้วยกัน
สำหรับประเทศไทย ซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งในประเทศที่มีศักยภาพด้านอุตสาหกรรมการผลิตในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ การเปลี่ยนแปลงดังกล่าวส่งผลกระทบโดยตรงต่อความสามารถในการแข่งขันและรายได้มวลรวมของประเทศ ภาครัฐจึงได้กำหนดนโยบาย THAILAND 4.0 เพื่อสนับสนุนและผลักดันการเปลี่ยนแปลงที่สอดรับกับการแข่งขันอันเข้มข้นในตลาดระดับนานาชาติ โดยหนึ่งในนโยบายย่อยที่สำคัญซึ่งสนับสนุนพื้นที่การผลิตที่มีศักยภาพโดดเด่นของประเทศ คือ โครงการระเบียงเศรษฐกิจภาคตะวันออก (Eastern Economic Corridor) หรือ EEC เพื่อเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันและรองรับกิจกรรมทางเศรษฐกิจและการลงทุนที่จะเพิ่มขึ้นในอนาคตด้วยการสนับสนุนในรูปแบบต่าง ๆ อาทิการสนับสนุนจาก BOI การพัฒนาสาธารณูปโภคพื้นฐาน การเปิดพื้นที่พิเศษ เป็นต้น
AUTOMACH 2018 ได้จัดขึ้นภายในพื้นที่โครงการ EEC โดยมีความมุ่งหมายเพื่อการเข้าถึงและสนับสนุนผู้ประกอบการในพื้นที่ซึ่งได้รับการสนับสนุนจากโครงการดังกล่าวให้เกิดความสามารถในการแข่งขันที่ทัดเทียมกับนานาชาติ โดยให้ความสำคัญกับระบบอัตโนมัติที่เกี่ยวข้องกับภาคอุตสาหกรรมครบวงจร อาทิ หุ่นยนต์อุตสาหกรรม ระบบสายพานลำเลียงอัตโนมัติ เซนเซอร์ ระบบ IIoT และ Smart Factory เป็นต้น ตลอดระยะเวลาการจัดงานนั้นได้มีผู้ให้ความสนใจเข้าชมงานกว่า 3,000 คน จากกว่า 1,000 โรงงานในพื้นที่ EEC และพื้นที่กลุ่มโรงงานอุตสาหกรรมใกล้เคียง โดยมีผู้ร่วมออกบูทแสดงสินค้ากว่า 80 บริษัท
ตลอดระยะเวลาที่ผ่านมา 1 ปี เทคโนโลยีและนวัตกรรมด้านระบบอัตโนมัติเกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลงและเติบโตอย่างรวดเร็ว มีความต้องการและการใช้งานระบบอัตโนมัติเพิ่มขึ้น ภาพรวมของตลาดมีเอกลักษณ์ที่ชัดเจนและมีกลุ่มผู้ผลิตมีความจำเพาะเจาะจงในรายละเอียดมากขึ้น เพื่อตอบสนองต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงดังกล่าว ในปี 2019 ทางผู้จัดงาน จึงได้เปลี่ยนชื่องานเพื่อให้มีความเฉพาะเจาะจงมากขึ้น ในชื่อ AUTOMATION EXPO โดยงานในครั้งนี้ มุ่งเน้นให้ความสำคัญกับระบบอัตโนมัติสำหรับภาคอุตสาหกรรม ควบคู่ไปกับการให้คุณค่ากับผู้เข้าชมงานและผู้ร่วมแสดงสินค้ามากขึ้น AUTOMATION EXPO 2019 ที่กำลังจะเกิดขึ้นนี้จะเป็นการส่งต่อประสบการณ์ ความรู้ เทคโนโลยี รวมถึงโอกาสในการแข่งขันให้กับผู้ประกอบการในประเทศไทยโดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งผู้ประกอบการที่ต้องการแข่งขันในระดับนานาชาติ สร้างความสำเร็จและความยั่งยืนของธุรกิจซึ่งสามารถวัดผลได้อย่างชัดเจน รวมถึงเพิ่มศักยภาพในการบริหารจัดการและดำเนินการผลิตอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพปราศจากความสูญเสียที่เกิดขึ้นได้จริง
